John Joseph Gotti, Jr., the reputed former boss of the Gambino crime family, raised five children. However, there have been allegations that he fathered other children, including at least one with the wife of another reputed Gambino family member, behind his back. There have also been allegations that after John Gotti became the alleged Gambino boss following the execution of the prior alleged boss, Paul Castellano, in December 1985, Gotti would send this individual on missions out of town so he could spend time with his wife.
Whether or not that’s true, John Gotti, born October 27, 1940, had five children that carried his last name:
Angela “Angel” Gotti, born 1961
Victoria Gotti, born 1962
John Gotti, born 1964
Frank Gotti, born 1968
Peter Gotti, born 1974
John Gotti Jr., in his 2015 book, said that his father, a notorious ladies’ man, had a “parade of willing women.” During his 2010 60 Minutes interview, he said that after his father came home from prison in 1972, “all the women on the block began putting notes in his windshield.”
A player in the days before HIV and AIDS, when men weren’t scared of dying from having unprotected sex with strange women, it’s not a stretch to wonder if “The Dapper Don” fathered children outside of his marriage. Even before he was the reputed boss of the Gambino family, he was a man that women across New York creamed for.
That being said– there have been allegations that his oldest child, Angel Gotti, is not his blood child. That she was born to another man, who her mother was allegedly married to before John Gotti, named William Rickard.
However: Angel Gotti, a serial liar and perpetual victim who has publicly sworn on her children’s lives that she was telling the truth when she was lying, staunchly states that she is John Gotti’s full daughter.
But– FBI documents from 1964-66 indicate otherwise. The following five pages are from his 25-page Selective Service file which can be read, printed and downloaded at:
FBI Records: The Vault — John Joseph Gotti, Jr Part 01
PAGE 2 is from an April 27, 1964 document memorializing contact with John Gotti’s father. It states:
“on July 22, 1963 the subject’s father appeared at the Local Board and advised he did not know the subject’s whereabouts and had not seen him for approximately six months. He further advised the subject is married and has one child.”

PAGE 6 is from an October 5, 1964 document memorializing interviews with John Gotti’s parents. It states:
“On May 13, 1964, June 26, 1964, and August 14, 1964… subject’s parents… were re-interviewed at which time they denied having any contact with the subject or having knowledge of his present whereabouts… They stated the subject married an Italian girl who was previously married and has at least one child by the previous marriage.”

PAGE 7 cites an August 19, 1964 contact with the Bureau of Vital Statistics, Brooklyn, N.Y., and quotes an unnamed woman, possibly an employee there who was interviewed, saying:
“She further stated the subject’s wife was previously married, had one child by that marriage and two children by her present marriage.”

PAGE 17 is a November 1965 document memorializing an interview with John Gotti himself, from that November 10, when he appeared at Kings County Courthouse in Brooklyn, New York due to his October 12, 1965 arrest by the New York City Police Department for Grand Larceny – Auto. The document reported:
“JOHN JOSEPH GOTTI was interviewed at Kings County Courthouse, Brooklyn, New York…
GOTTI advised… he is married and has two children.”

PAGE 18 cites a December 6, 1965, interview with a woman who reportedly stated about John Gotti:
“the subject, his wife and two children moved from that address during the middle of November, 1965.”
